Hikers, skiers, bikers, bird watchers, sports teams and history buffs join us at this cozy guesthouse that offers rooms with private or shared baths, a common kitchen and eating area, parlor with a fireplace and TV, recreation room with a pool table and pinball machine, and easy access to all Saranac Lake has to offer.


Prescott House has a long history in Saranac Lake, from its original use as “Reception Hospital” to treat severely ill TB patients, to later uses as college classrooms, a women’s dormitory for North Country Community College, and eventually a bustling vacation rental property. Adirondack Rec Room

Head down to the Prescott House ADK basement and experience SLK's FBO - our recreation room themed in homage to the history of aviation in the Adirondacks. (Why SLK's FBO? SLK , or SLICK, is the nickname for Adirondack Regional Airport, which serves the North Country. FBO stands for "fixed base operations"—the business set up to provide support and a place to rest for incoming pilots. In our case, it stands for "Fixed Basement Operations" and offers a place for guests to relax, watch game, play some pinball, or use the full kitchen.

I've stayed here more than once and I love it! It's super quiet and clean, and has a huge kitchen that you can use. It has such charm, so unique. Deer walk around the property during the day and night . I would totally recommend staying here!

You really can't beat this stay for the price, especially in an area where rates can soar well above what's expected. Our room was very clean and comfy. Even though we shared a bathroom with the floor, there was never anyone in there at the same time I was. Just keep in mind there is no air conditioning in the summer. Not a problem for those used to it, just people like me from the south who aren't. And there was an odd smell to our room. Not terribly strong, but something I attributed to it once being a hospital. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and was so grateful to find this place! Also, such a cool history. Glad it's being preserved and put to good use in the community.

including the shared bathrooms and kitchen. The atmosphere is quiet so sleep is uninterrupted. It is wonderfully located within a short walk to the town, Moody pond and Bakers peak. Kelowna is a wonderful host and very knowledgeable about the area, history and climbing. The town of Saranac Lake is full of history. Make sure that you take some time to explore the museums. Good food in the area. Highly recommend staying at the Prescott house. Very good value!!

This is a beautiful historic inn that is clean and quiet. Our host Kelowna was so helpful and welcoming! Thanks for everything!! We loved sitting on the comfy chairs on the large porch on the 2nd floor. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed climbing Mt. Baker which is a 10 minute walk from the property . As well the town of Saranac is in walking distance and Lake Flower for swimming or kayaking is nearby . We enjoyed beautiful cycling right from the property! Amazing place to enjoy everything the area has to offer!
